Mission: "Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community."
The objectives of AFJROTC (Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals. The AFJROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. The curriculum emphasizes the Air Force heritage and traditions, the development of flight, applied flight sciences, military aerospace policies, and space exploration.
This is a Leadership Laboratory where the cadets get to run the entire program and make decisions in a controlled environment. Cadets will be required to wear the AFJROTC uniform at least one day each week and comply with grooming and appearance standards. While in AFJROTC , the cadets will demonstrate professionalism, respect and a high level of discipline. There are many extracurricular activities within AFJROTC to include, Competition and Ceremonial Drill Teams, Marksmanship Team, Raider Team, Venture Crew and many more. Successful completion of the program can lead to numerous scholarship opportunities and also up to 16 credit hours from the University of Colorado in Leadership/Management which are transferable to any college or university.
